I know that the incapable Brian Kerr couldn't get Ireland into the tournament but this year's World Cup should still be decent. With the weather starting to look good and England moaning about not having Rooney, it's happy days so far. I've set up a fantasy football league for anybody who is interested. Of course he didn't get the India job. Just like the South Africa post that he applied for, he never heard back. I have €20 on Holland to win it with Van Nistelrooy top scorer at 40/1.

Well, the Punchbowl Ladies team are now officially regsitered.. An embarrassing series of defeats are predicted, but then I guess that's what you get when you pin all your hopes on a one legged chav... Here's my sensational predictions for the Cup of the World, which I cpmpleted on http://www.footballsupportersinternational.com/worldcup/worldcup2006/WorldCup2006.xls To Qualify from groups A : Germany, Poland (No Surprises) B : Paraguay, England (Sweden needed a win over England in the last game but didn't manage it) C : Argentina, Netherlands. Serbia mounted a tough challenge but alas, without Slobodon Milosevic they were always gonna struggle D : Mexico, Portugal. Despite Irans 'up-n-atom' tactic, they only just miss out on a place in the second round. Still, soon they'll have a World War to win so it's not all bad E : USA, Italy. Sneaky faves USA the only surprise here F : Brazil, Croatia : A tough group for all concerned (apart from Brazil) so really anyone can qualify in second, yes, even Austrailia.
