I know that the incapable Brian Kerr couldn't get Ireland into the tournament but this year's World Cup should still be decent. With the weather starting to look good and England moaning about not having Rooney, it's happy days so far. I've set up a fantasy football league for anybody who is interested. Just go over to http://fantasyfootball.metro.co.uk and join the Cluas League using this code: 81966-20698

Useless fact: Brian Kerr was at Broken Social Scene in Vicar St. the week before last.

He was spotted at Roy Keane's testimonal taking notes (or was it drawing little cartoons?). The man doesn't know what to do with himself.

Did he get the India job? I don't think I've got tickets for any gigs in June. Ordinarily this would consern me as I'd have nothing to do with myself but music can f**k right off for the next month. I've got Toni at 24/1 and Torres at 33/1 for the golden boot.

Of course he didn't get the India job. Just like the South Africa post that he applied for, he never heard back. I have €20 on Holland to win it with Van Nistelrooy top scorer at 40/1.

I hope those bets pay for places, cos that boot is Ronaldo's. Ronaldo for the boot, Brazil for the win at 20/1 will make my summer. :)

How did you get 40/1 on V Nist? P power are only giving odds of 18/1.

Got'em both each way, top 4 pays for place. I reckon I'll make some money back. Wouldn't be surprised if Ronaldo does get the golden boot. He always turns it on at the World Cup but his odds were too short. Gar, those are some good odds for Horseface Ruud, but I reckon the Dutch will stumble in the semi's.

Well, the Punchbowl Ladies team are now officially regsitered.. An embarrassing series of defeats are predicted, but then I guess that's what you get when you pin all your hopes on a one legged chav... Here's my sensational predictions for the Cup of the World, which I cpmpleted on http://www.footballsupportersinternational.com/worldcup/worldcup2006/WorldCup2006.xls To Qualify from groups A : Germany, Poland (No Surprises) B : Paraguay, England (Sweden needed a win over England in the last game but didn't manage it) C : Argentina, Netherlands. Serbia mounted a tough challenge but alas, without Slobodon Milosevic they were always gonna struggle D : Mexico, Portugal. Despite Irans 'up-n-atom' tactic, they only just miss out on a place in the second round. Still, soon they'll have a World War to win so it's not all bad E : USA, Italy. Sneaky faves USA the only surprise here F : Brazil, Croatia : A tough group for all concerned (apart from Brazil) so really anyone can qualify in second, yes, even Austrailia. G : France, Korea : In Korea they eat dogs. Fact. Into the second round they go so.. H : Spain, Ukraine : Second Round Germany 2 : 2 England (Germany win on penalties after Chris Waddle somewhat amazingly steps up to blast over the bar. Eriksonn vows never to use time machine again) Argentine 3 : 2 Portugal Paraguay 0 : 1 Poland Mexico 1 : 2 Netherlands USA 3 : 2 Croatia France 2 : 1 Ukraine Brazil 1 : 1 Italy (Brazil win on Penalities, Italy lose on Penalties) Spain 2 : 0 Korea Qtr Finals Germany 2 : 1 Argentina USA 2 : 1 France Poland 1 : 3 Netherlands Brazil 1 : 2 Spain Semi Germany 3 : 1 USA Netherlands 1 : 1 Spain (Spain Pens) Final Germany 1 : 2 Spain
