Surely, The Long Knives and The Young Blondes are better band names? Oh, and I've heard the Pipettes. "Pull Shapes" indeed: they sound like Bananarama to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Nope but I'm hopeful that there will be something in the pipeline pretty soon. Mentioning them was more wishful thinking than anything else.

I seen the automatic on some show the other day, they were so bad,had a really annoying keyboarder shouting all the time and smacked of desperation, absolute angular rubbish

They're Irish. What do you expect? Most Irish bands are rubbish.

Good stuff for mentioning lots of Irish bands in there Gar!! Stagger Lee won't have an album this side of 2006 but we're working on that ha ha!! Looking forward to the debut album from Fields..should be a cracker. Really looking forward to hearing Patrick Wolf's new one too (tho not a debut!). Quite like that new Automatic song...it's verrryyy catchy. 'What's that coming over the hill...is it a monster...is it a MONSTER!!!'

Yea don’t know about that now man. I like Si Schroeders stuff and saw him last week but the likes of (and I know these aren’t the exact same but they are along the same lines) Crayonsmith and Dry County have released better stuff in my opinion. Fair play tho all the same - its great to see good artists get they're just rewards!

wasn't too impressed with Si Schroeder's set in Crawdaddy, a bit to precious. Lo-fi folktronica is alright as background music, but it's hardly an interesting genre.
