Was flicking the channels the other night and found the music programme on Channel 6. Pretty decent. Anyway, I caught a video from this Tom Vek bloke and It was pretty good.. Is his album worth picking up. Who would you compare him to

Don't have the album but he played a great set at Oxegen last year. Kinda indie-rock with a punkish feel and electro inserts - loud and impressive.

Very good record. Slightly disjointed, bit like a less floor-friendly LCD soundsystem, but good nonetheless.. Check him out http://www.myspace.com/tomvek

tom vek is well worth checking out, "nothing but green lights" is kinda david byrne/talking heads esque, videos for it is really good as well. the album is kinda patchy in parts but overall its a lot more interesting than the crop of english new wave/punk revivalists doing the rounds. tom vek recorded part of the album in dublin (think it was creamy sonic studios on exchequer st)

God, I hate "Nothing But Green Lights"! "Once In a Lifetime" meets "Losing My Edge"; entirely derivative and still managing to sound naff. I guess there's no accounting for taste.
