Strange gig last night.. Turns out it was an dry gig as U16s were allowed in.. not that there were many there. With it being a dry gig, it looked like the only ones with alcohol in them WERE the U16s up front. While the band performed well, the crowd just didnt react. And I must count myself in with this. That and the fact that I thought the coldplay feel was a little bit too much at times. Oxegen should be more fun.

Yeah, my mate made a few Chris Martin remarks too. Mostly a crowd of head-nodders, nowt too exciting. They're decent enough. Drink wouldnt've improved em for me I'd wager.

I was thinking the same. Id seen em in whelans and i loved it. I love their album. But something just turned me off the gig last night. I thought they were going too stadium rock with it for the size of the venue. Loud does not make good.

didn't go this time round, i find their music powerful but sterile and emotionless and that kind of music most definitely is not good live. I hear they had a better stage presence this time round but then they've done a serious amount of touring since last year.

As a result of the touring it just felt like they were just knocking it out..if you know what i mean. That said yer man still goes nuts on stage, but even that felt perfected.. bit like glens D for dog stories if yt you know what i mean... :)

I hate the whole drinking culture we live in...why can't you enjoy a concert without drink? And why shouldn't U16s be let in? Anyway, I actually started to say, does anybody else notice that Editors are kinda like a copy of Interpol really? A poorish copy.

They should of course, but why should it stop me from having a pint & watching the band ? Its not the case at Festivals, Sporting events or in your local pub. So why the sudden change ? Minors have to be accompanyed by an adult to gigs, who is there to make sure they dont break the law. Maybe a wristband/stamp system similar to the US were minors can get into clubs, but are not served should be introduced. Ironic thing about stopping the bars was, that judging by the dozen or naggins on the floor afterwards, its the kids who also cant watch a gig without drink

Initially I thought that the editors were a copy of interpol alright. But I think there is a bg enough difference to justify their existence. Theres no reason why U16s should be allowed in. But is there a need to close the bar just because U16s are in the building. I doubt it. yeah, at the same time its a pity our culture is based around alcohol. However, for me it wasnt necessarily the lack of alcohol that meant that i didnt enjoy the gig. For me it was the over professional nature of the gig. They just sounded like they were doing a 9 - 5 for me

The first time I heard them on radio over here was on an import type show. The DJ thought they were Interpol under a different name. I think I prefer them to Interpol.

WHhhhhhatttt???!!! Better than Interpol.....no fecking way. THey don't have an ounce of the same charm that Interpol have - lyrically, aesthetically...and as for the music, it's a poor copy of Interpol. In my humble opinion of course...

Best diss I've ever heard about Editors was when they were reviewing the album on Newstalk when it came out. "I can't decide if they're trying to rip off Joy Division or Interpol".
