Yeah, I thought they were deadly. That bass player looks like Hooper from Jaws.

A great gig but boy was it hot in there. They sound much better live than on record - and louder too!

One of the best gigs this year - great live performance.

Took a while to get going for me, but they had certainly picked up by the end. Is it just me or is there something missing from BSS's music. Their live shows make up for it - I'd probably go and see them again - but I know they'll never be my favourite band. There was no one song that I was dying to hear, though the finale was worth waiting for.

well i was dissappointed with the Galway gig tbh, it didn't help that you had a lot of the crowd more interested in a chat than getting into the music. Should women be banned from gigs? sexist and extreme maybe but they are always the biggest offenders, there were bunch beside me who might as well have being having a coffee morning gossip session, f*ck sake, it pissed off the band too and they gave out about it. They played for two and a quarter hours but even with the dodgy crowd aside it wasn't a great gig, as matlock said above i found it took a while to get going then it would lull, get going, lull, very overated live i think, i was expecting a gig of the year, although maybe Dublins "proper" gig was different.

It prob did'nt help either that it was on the same nite as the Champs League final. Prob the reason why there was alot of women at it, to get out of the gaff. There was a fair bit of totty in Vicar St last nite though.

Thought the TBMC gig was better, there was a fair few lulls alright last night. I was upstairs melting. Sweat box. Definitely much better live. I think it's the production I dont like on CD. Sounds soft and hazy and the vocals are very low but live the power's there.

no they really were better the first time! or at least at the tbmc gig i wasn't standing next to people more interested in taking camera phone pics and talking rather than dancing. ah well i'm sure they'll be great again at the Electric Picnic!

Fantastic gig, loved every minute of it. One of the most fun filled concerts I've been to in an age.

I bow down to no man. They WERE better the first time! More enjoyable, more reactive crowd, better banter, fewer lulls. Still good though! Jayzus.

Well I wasn't at the Vicar Street gig but by all accounts they were great, however I did catch them the following night at ATP and it seemed that there was a slightly smaller lineup on this tour, no horn section, less guitarists etc. so I'd easily believe that the first gig was better for that reason but they were still fantastic.

There was a horn section at the Vicar street gig and about 5 guitars
Anyone know the covers they did? Think the first was Kate Bush. The song near the end is wrecking my head, Zero 7 kinda thing

Fair enough, few of them didn't make the trip to Camber then. Was Amy Milian the only female vocalist they brought with them?
J Mascis guested with them on Almost Crimes when I saw them, he kinda ruined it.

They did a bit of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For in Galway.
