Anyone heard Muse's new single? New dancy funky souly direction! Their lyrics are usually well dodgy, Bellamy tends to wail like a banshee castrato and they have some of the worst song titles ever. Knights of Cydonia? So why do I like em so much????!!!

haven't heard it, but I love Muse. They're just so over-the-top and Bellamy is a pretty handy pianist and guitar player. Never seen them live, but buy all accounts they are great.

I saw em live at Dublin Castle 2 or 3 years ago supported by The Hives. It was the most violent gig I've ever been at! No fights, just squashed in a surging, pummelling pit. Knackered I was. I LOVE Newborn but when I heard the quiet intro starting near the end of the gig, I thought "oh fook, im gonna die here". Yeah, amazing power for a 3 piece.

that gig at dublin castle was incredible. the best i've seen them play although i'll always cherish the memory of their show at the second Witnness - torrential rain, my first moshpit and my first time getting stoned. joy.

SuperMassive BLack Hole... took me by surprise on first hearing it, but gotta say i love it now, the video is interesting to say the least. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF9OvIol9eY Knights of Cydonia (http://www.savefile.com/files/2197099) , mad name but great song, all 6mins of it. Also Starlight (http://www.savefile.com/files/3902657) from the new album, very much in the classic Muse style and wonderful. They played them both at the BBC Big Weekend in Dundee last weekend. Radio recordings, so quaility is ok, but not fabulous. Can't wait to see them at Reading. Also meant to be doing an Eden session in August. Wonder what the chances of a gig from them over here this year are, fingers crossed. Certainly not to be missed, one of the best live acts around.

Anyone see the footage of them from Big Day Out, backstage afterwards Bellemy was walking by the Metallica guys and James Hetfield said "Hey man, you can really shred", the pair of them having a chat about the built in effects on his guitar was pretty funny.
