When's the last time that you were looking forward to an album but were bitterly let down by it when it was eventually released? Most recent case for me is the debut album by White Rose Movement.

The last Bell X1 album. Had high hopes for it (love Music in Mouth), it just sounded flat.

The Chemical Brothers - Push the Button. Not actually a bad album, just so utterly tame and playing things safe. Suprisingly well received critically compared to how many slated the previous album "Come with us" which despite being a bit of a mess contained some of the Chems finest moments of unrestrained sub-woofer ripping brilliance (It Began in Afrika-ka-ka-ka, Star Guitar, Denmark). "Come with Us" is totally flawed but deeply likeable, Push the button doesn't have anything really wrong with it as such, but just doesn't feel special in any way. The only real stand out track is "Believe". Then again, I like it when bands that go out on a limb, even if the results aren't always a total success (e.g. U2 - Zooropa, Adult. - Gimme Trouble) New Order - Waiting for the Sirens' Call Again, not a bad album by any stretch of the imagination, in fact compared to many of the current crop of New Order influenced bands, it's a work of genius. Just not up to their high standards. U2 - How to dismantle an Atomic bomb: Stop trying to sound like Coldplay trying to sound like U2.

dEUS need to get weird again. It's all gone a bit straightforward by their standards.

RHCP - Stadium Arcadium, don't know what all the good reviews are about.

The last Weezer album was muck. The last Strokes album had a couple of good tunes but was fairly disapointing over all. And the most recent albums from The Flaming Lips, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Franz Ferdinand all pale in comparison to the bands previous efforts.

Indeed! The Green album has some brilliant little cheesy riffs and songs. Not as solid an album by any means as the first two but it cant be just dismissed.
