I had reasonably high hopes for this show but deary me it's bad. No reflection on the bands and I know funds are sparse for a show like this but it's so dated. It seemed like everybody on the show had a shaky grasp of the Gaeilge, including the presenters. Think the whole show needs a yoof injection. The panel of judges is some girl from BBC NI, Jim Lockhart and Leslie Dowdall! On the plus side, the sound seems half decent & the bands werent bad at all! I've seen worse on ATL TV. Anyone else see it?

*************************************************. I didn't realise it was gonna be a competition. Why is music a big competition? The sound quality of the bands was indeed good. You could hear all the instruments, can't fault them there. The bands played well too, but weren't my cup of tea.

There were posts a few months ago on Thumped & maybe here too from Fergal (i think), one of the producers. His rationale was that they could only attract TV stations to it if it had a competetive element to it. Seemed he had to compromise to get it on TV. From what I remember anyway.

Yeah I suppose your right Norman, life is one big compromise. That was rant against the trend rather than the producers of this show. Though in saying that, american idol is a guilty pleasure of mine. Damn I compromised.
