Anyone else at this? Was seriously impressed with 'The Immediate' Last time I saw them was the end of their set supporting Doves last Xmas in the Olympia and they didn't catch fire for me at all This time round though, they were sharp, accomplished and on top of their game Quality set from them - at least 4 or 5 really memorable tunes WRM and The Young Knives had their moments too - in fact all three bands put their back into it - a really good nite of live music Can't ask for more than that

Was only there to see WRM really, but caught the end of the Immediate - not my thing really.

The Immediate are one of the best indie bands around. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT. Saw a hilarious review of their EP in Hotpress that went something like "they're too clever"! What a fking stupid thing to say: 'me, I like me fkin meat and two veg rock n roll, knownmsayin? Clever people are faggots.' They were in the Sunday Times culture mag the other day (Sunday in fact, plus ca change).

To be honest, the last 3 songs I heard were dull and overall I thought they were horribly mismatched with WRM. Shame.

I haven't seen them live in a while, must make the next gig. But the new EP is great, although not as commercial as the Don't Get Lost EP. They're still more adventurous and inventive that the majority of bands in Ireland at the moment.
