Pretty poor I thought, I haven't seen them in about 15 months and in the intervening time they seem to have cut down on the fantastic walls of noise they used to have and gone far dancier.

I thought it was quite a good gig - the sound where I was standing was great (except the lack of volume on the bvs for some reason) they're a really tight band. Thought it did lull a bit in the middle with the quieter instrumental interlude, which seems to be a newish addition to their set - didn't help that the crowd were 'talking' (read: shouting) - that doesn't usually bother me that much but it was really obvious and well, kind of ruined the moment. It wasn't a wall of noise but sometimes you want to hear what's going on too.. :)

The only parts that I really got into was the opening number and the latter part of one of the new songs that I initially thought sounded really like the Killers before taking a turn for the better.

Thought they were f**king class (but then i always do) Particularly liked the song called Varying Degrees of Excess (i think) apparently its a reintroduced older song - quite a bit heavier than some of the other stuff...if i remember correctly. But yea... f**king deadly gig.... the loud talking during that quiet instrumental was f**king irritating tho.

Personally I conveyed my displeasure to my companions by writing messages on my phone and handing it to them. My keypad was set to mute by the way. Hey Benni you were DJing right, think it was you, you nearly drove me insane for about 2 minutes when you played The Knife's version of Heartbeats which I'd never heard before and I was racking my brains trying to recognise it.

I'm terribly ashamed that I've given into the compulsion to confirm that I did know that and couldn't just let the matter lie.
