The great man's playing Whelans April 25th, but I can't quite decide if I want to go. Love the old Big Star stuff and really enjoyed that reunion tour they did about 10 years ago with the Posies. But I haven't heard what material he's playing on this tour. Most of his solo stuff that I've heard has been mediocre. I really don't want to go along and come out thinking he was terrible...

Im goin. Cant wait:-)...though i am a tiny bit worried it could be a bit of a let down. seems to be a one off gig, cant find any other dates.

Yeah, Kevin, I did the same searches and found nothing to enlighten me as to what type of gig it's gonna be. Apparently he sometimes hires local musicians in each town when he tours. Dunno if that's the case this time. But on the off-chance that he plays Thirteen or the India Song , I don't think I can risk not going. I shall adopt an optimistic outlook, it'll be a wonderful gig...!
