So i'm watching a repeat of The Sopranos on More 4 and enjoying it immensely as i always do, episode ends, credits roll and a kick-ar*s tune kicks in to see the episode out. The chours goes "You can't put you're arm around Ray (i think)" and it's a brilliant song with angular guitars, a guy and a girl shouting the chorus and the whole things just chugs along brilliantly. Have no idea who it was and am therefore coming to the Cluas well of musical knowledge to see if any of you big brain's on bread can quench my thirst?

They have started advertising it so I assume its fairly soon. On the last episode of the last series they used some deadly Van Morrison tracks.

Hate to be a smart arse, but it's not the Kinks. It's someone covering the said song. I don't have time right now, but the HBO site for the sopranos has listings for every song used in every episode, so if we feel like being pedantic, it's listed there.

My God Vandala that site is immense. I was tempted to see what happened in Episode 1 of the new series but managed to control myself and resist the temptation. And the tune is ........ Johnny Thunders "You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory!"

I've seen the first two episodes of the new series - Limewire, etc. BIG shock at the end of episode one!

Yeah it was alrite, he doesnt come out of it for an annoyingly long time. It's very heavy on the ol' symbololisms and what not. Too hard to focus on what they mean when you watch it in bed after waiting for it to download

Which was also deployed very effectively by Scorese in his 1999 film 'Bringing out the dead'...

Hi I remember seeing that episode of Soprano's. I think it was a live version of the song, played by Kink Dave Davies, who wrote the song. The original can be found as an extra on the Face to Face album.

That's me told. http://www.hbo.com/sopranos/music/episode62.shtml Nonetheless, it was the Johnny Thunders track that began this thread. Let's quit while we're ahead.
