Dangermouse must be the most sought after producer around right now. I reckon The Rapture need someone who isn't familiar with their sound to help them progress. Looking forward to seeing them live again though.

yea workin with Dangermouse is cool n all - and i know that The Rapture had a similar style with the DFA guys i interviewed them when they played the village in 2001 or 2002 or whatever and they went into great detail telling me about how they liked the process of just recording stuff and handing it straight over to the DFA lads to mess around with. But treating everything like a sample - i dunno. I'd see that as more of a Dangermouse record so than the Raptures follow up.

Yeah I know what ya mean but to me it sounds much more appealing than more of the same from The Rapture. It's been three years since the last record, but we'll have to wait and see what the outcome is.

I read an article in NME a few weeks ago saying that the album was being co-produced by Scottish electro producer Ewan Pearson (who's most famous for his remix of Freeform Five's Perspex Sex and who's other remixes include a load of Goldfrapp tunes and the Rapture's own I Need Your Love) and Paul Epworth aka Phones (Producer/Remixer du Jour for the likes of (deep breath) Bloc Party, The Futureheads, Maximo Park, The Rakes, The Long Blondes, Baby Shambles, Sons & Daughters, White Rose Movement, Death From Above 1979, Tom Vek, The Kills, Annie, New Order, Goldfrapp etc). And in fact only when those two were finished with the album would the tracks be sent off to Danger Mouse to be tweaked in post production so his input could be faitly minimal in the end.
