latest details on this festival in Mullingar...
Despite the presence of bigger headline acts, the Belvedere Hi:Fi will be smaller in scale than its UK sisters though, with four main areas. Aside from its main outdoor "live" stage, which will face the main arena with its back to Lough Ennell, there will be three large tented stages - two of which will have a capacity of 6,000 each, the third 1,000. Hi:Fi will also feature a bill of non-musical entertainment including chill out areas, a comedy stage and exclusive VIP arenas.
The acts in the Hi:Fi frame is The Prodigy, Faithless and The Streets and Belgian act Soulwax and their DJ alter ego 2many DJ's. The latter are the only 100 per cent confirmed act and they will be bringing their now legendary blend of 21st Century electro infused rock and roll to the weekend by hosting their own arena at Hi:Fi, the Radio Soulwax Arena. One can expect the cutting edge of dance-flavoured rock acts to be performing here with Radio Soulwax promising to deliver the best of both rock and dance worlds at their own mini-festival within a festival.
Also strongly rumoured to be headlining at the live stage is ex-Stone Roses man Ian Brown. Acts such as Groove Armada, Keane, Fatboy Slim, Starsailor, Editors, Audio Bully's, Sasha & Digweed, and Paul Oakenfold are also rumoured to be in the running for slots. Contrary to strong local rumours, Pearl Jam will not be playing Hi:Fi.

Looks unappealing at the moment.
Sasha and Digweed in arenas/tents etc just doesn't work.
Pearl Jam have said they are playing a large arena in Ireland and it is not the point.
Rumours of them and Neil Young for Slane

I doubt pearl Jam would be a big enough draw to fill Phoenix park.

Not on their own, but you put a decent 'early 90s' undercard on that, I reckon 50-60,000 is possible.
Smashing Pumpkins, Janes Addiction, Dinosaur Jr & the foremention Neil Young, & you have the guts of a very good day out. Give FKOS the opening slot, & MCD have my 60quid !!

Can you imagine the ammount of skangers that line up is going to attract? At least it'll keep a lot of the scum from going to Electric Picnic just to get off their face to Basement Jaxx.
