The only thing I'd consider going to is Isobell Campbell. Is it just me or does it look as though the Bud Rising peeps blew their wad on good acts to book in the first couple of years and are scrambling to not repeat themselves?

I saw Isobel Campbell in the Sugar Club recently and she wasn't as good as I had hoped she would be. But this year's line-up is pretty decent with The Long Blondes, White Rose Movement, Shout Out Louds and Nerina Pallot all playing.

Saw M. Ward at Crawdaddy for Bud Rising last year. It was excellent bar a f**king Bud Rising light that was glaring into my face and the face of others for the duration of the gig. Why do they have to burn the Bud logo into our peepers? It's enough to assume that the people who attend these gigs know who's sponsoring it even if they don't give a sh*t.

jaysus, this board is just chocablock with talent! Good luck to everyone gearing up for their gigs - I will personally take responsibility for cloning all Cluas members so we can all go to every show.

Let me clarify I have absolutely nothing to do with Giant Drag. I am merely a fan. They hail from California and sound a bit like Polly Harvey. I think they may have been mentioned as a band to look out for in 2006 on another thread earlier in year.

and i also have no association to Stagger Lee - i may be the bass player but i can assure you, all intentions here are completely unbias and subjective. seriously now.

Yeah I've heard the raving about Giant Drag, heard 2 songs and wasn't impressed, now I have the album so i'll have a proper listen to them, that said the gig is only 6euro. Long Blondes gig is sold out isn't it Benni.

I'm actually heading up to Dublin for that that gig. Do you have a demo tape or anything that I could get off you on the night?
