Well.....not 100% confirmed but the band were considering playing it. Hopefully a band like this are signed up rather than returns of acts we had last year (e.g. Husky Rescue).

went to see them in Copenhagen and Barcelona recently, particularly because they werent coming to Ireland.they were excellent, particularly different names & transatlanticism.would be the kind of band to make me commit to the picnic for a weekend.maybe throw in Wilco ,National, Teenage Fanclub and a few other non-britpop soundwave producers and ill definitely be there

Casually mentioning a big name like that("Chris Walla informed me last night...") in order to impress is pretty much exactly how i'd define name-dropping. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Was trying to give it some authenticity, rather than speculate by saying some guy from another forum apparently spoke to the guitarist and he said yeah. Doesn't really matter though. Just hope they play Electric Picnic.

Well I think its a nice slap in the face for the nation of Oxegen bashers, it has become like a national pastime, typical Irish begrudgery "everything here is sh1t" attitude, well as it turns out Oxegen has one of the best festival lineups in Europe and everyone at it isn't a drunken 16 year old! (most of them are 17)

Admin, if you're going to asterisk swear words, can you add 'begrudgery' to that list please?

No change for me, Sigur Rós are still the only act at Oxegen to excite me so I'm not bothered about missing it.

How is there an "everything here is s**t" begrudgery attitude? What about the outpouring of Electric Picnic love last year? Silly person.

OWNED!! Think the point is, people will compliment something that is good and criticise if bad. Some people dislike Oxegen for its poor design, rip off prices (two sausage rolls and pint of milk €20), boring predictable line up, badly run etc etc. Of course, I'm a begrudger
