'Architecture In Helsinki': surely the most abysmally-named band in the history of music-based entertainment? They sat around for ages trying to think of something 'really quirky' and original like Death Cab For Cutie and suchlike but ended up just embarrassing themselves. There's such a fine line.....

But loadsa good bands have s**t names e.g. Radiohead. It's just a matter of getting used to the name. Otherwise we would all be forever doomed in not listening to bands because they work under a dodgy moniker.

Ah c'mon now......the first time people hear a dodgy band's name they instantly slate it but if the music is good then that's all that matters. Once people familarize themselves with the band's music then their name can become likeable or at least acceptable.

Weren't Radiohead named after the Talking Heads song 'Radio Head'? (and thereby it being a pretty cool name by association??!!)

Eeeh dunno, I try to avoid knowing anything about Radiohead. But I do think there should be some kind of industry watchdog group set up to uphold high standards of band naming...because frankly quality has gone seriously downhill...
