A friend of mine was buying their tickets this morning. They wanted to buy tickets for Saturday and Sunday, but not to camp.....only to be told if they wanted tickets for the weekend they had to buy Camping tickets....and spend another 20 euro on a parking spot at the festival! (No joke) I think the Oxygen money machine has gone into overdrive already! Anyone else experience anything like this if buying a ticket?

I hear both Saturday and Sunday tickets are sold out. only camping left. Though this could just be a batch of tickets and they'll release more closer to the date just to keep people checking the site.
I'm camping anyway so no matter to me.
Heard about the car park thing. Bunch of arse wha? Though I think they are only for 2 close car parks. There are other ones further out that you can get a shuttle bus to/from (no doubt for a small fee).
Best plan: Driver pays nothing and those travelling with him pay the fee.

They're charging 20 quid to park in a field? Are you JOKING?!
Sweet Jesus. What's the excuse for this sudden invention of a charge that wasn't necessary in other years? Has the price of grass seed exploded around the globe?

I was under the impression that the €20 charge was for peopl who left their cars there overnight, because a lot of people just set up camp in the carpark - a trend that MCD obviously want to stamp out. Oxegen is ridiculously expensive in most ways - including food, merchandise etc, but let's wait and see how much Electric Picnic is - it's not as if John Reynolds is Willy f**king Wonka all of a sudden.

Surely Electric Picnic should be announcing at least one headliner any day soon?????

not for another few weeks as far as I know.
They've already annouced Massive Attack though.
The Streets, Faithless and The Prodigy have been announced by Hi-Fi, however.

FAGS?? Are all the organisers of this year's Oxegen gay?! Surely that's a statistical impossibility, no?

o.k. the line up at ox is any of my several cups of tea so im probably biased but...if you do your maths, for about the same amount of cash (o.k. a little more!) it possible to go abroad to a festival that has nicer weather, nicer security staff, better beer and food, relaxed attitude to the aould schmoke if you choose it and lovley girls to oogle at!
as a feile veteran and having seen how this festival thing can be done right in this country, i'm skipping (P)oxegen might try electric picnic based on what i've read here it seems to be on the ball.
