Anyone go to the free gig in TBMC on friday night?? Only got to see the end of Channel 1 but they seemed to be going down well with the (sizeable) crowd. The Things performance was pure unadulterated rock and roll. I haven't seen so much moshing in a gig in a long time. The bouncers had to break it up a few times but lots of fun and mayhem had by all!!

Nah gotta disagree there - i think the vocals are f**king great. The instrumental stuff is savage too but that sparse, deep vocal style is really well suited to the overall sound.

The gig was great on Friday; would have to agree with 'whome' about the crowd, but i think the crowd was only feeding off the bands, and on show on Friday night we had two very different bands with very different stage dynamics at work......super show none the less!

Channel 1 were good but they started to bore me towards the end.But i did like some of the songs. The Things aren't really my cup of tea so I won't comment. I thought the night as a whole was a great idea,very well set-up.Attracted quite a big crowd.

Thought Ch-1 were pretty good. Not as good as the last time i saw them though. Not a big fan of them using electro drums in most of their songs.At times they were so loud you struggled to hear the guitars which are normally excellent. Not a big fan of The Things. Thought they were awful. Free gig in the music centre is a great idea by the way.

Channel-1 were super I thought, really enjoyed them. But The Things left me stone cold I'm afraid, seen it before so I'll leave it at that. Free gig's are the way forward, great crowd good to see TBMC packed out for a change....
