This may be old news for some of you but it only crossed my path today... Earlier in the month the winners of this year's Digital Media Awards were announced. The "Best Music Site" award (which CLUAS was considered for but did not make the shortlist) went to the iTunes Ireland website. iTunes also won the big kahuna "Grand Prix" prize as well on the night. But... I note that Liam Donohoe (Manager Apple of Apple Ireland) was one of the judges (http://www.digitalmedia.ie/judges.html). While I'm at, another of the judges was the General Manager of UTV Internet and guess who won the "Best Service Provider" award? That'll be UTV Internet. And the director of the Darklight Festival secured another one of the judging slots. And who won the Best mobile content award? Darklight. In their defence on the Digital Media Awards website the organisers do say "All judges will be assigned categories which do not pose a conflict of interest either to them or to entrants." Draw your own conclusions I suppose. eoghan

Last year CPU and Trust Me I'm A Thief were on the shortlist for this prize and we (CPU) did not think either of us would be in the running with Itunes, MyCoke music and Eircom among others, so ourselves and the Trust Me lads sat at out table getting pissed. Trust Me Im A Thief won it so we came to the conclusion that it was indeed above board and the best man won!
