THey've played at least twice - saw them in the music centre about 5 years ago and then again in Witness about 3 or 4 years ago. They had kind of toned down their live show a bit and by the sounds of the last album, their music a bit too. THe tbmc gig was insanely violent!

Only started listenening to them about three years ago so I was in the wilderness as far as those gigs were concerned. They're looking a bit bloated these days (apparently they have two drummers), but I liked the new album in as much that its as hit and miss as the rest of them.

It's always the same though, as soon as you get into a band you discover that they played a blinding set here months before. I think Dublin is getting better at attracting bigger acts though, the last three or four months proves that.

Wouldn't think it's a problem with the bigger acts, more the smaller ones who aren't widely known and haven't got/won't waste the resources covering all of the British isles.

From Bob Moulds blog. Italics by me. Same old Ireland....

....... Wednesday afternoon, a quick flight to Dublin. I spent the evening being shown the town by a friendly local chap. Thursday's show was great, perhaps the best of the trip. First rate venue, and a very supportive crowd. Friday, I rode over to Galway with support act Windings. Nice guys, Steve and Liam. Good music as well. The Galway show was OK, very crowded pub atmosphere, which translates to one drunk person creating a scene toward the end of the night. Sort of sad, really. Note to drunk fans: please don't touch the artist. It's exactly like "please don't pet the wild animals". You might get attacked. .........

I think Mr Mould needs a few pints of reality. One person ruined the gig for him? Build a bridge bob and get over it. Same old Ireland indeed.

I was at the Galway gig, it was good stuff, The guy who Bob complained about was acting the d**k all night, and evenutally got "ejected". I'm almost sure Trail of Dead played Cork at some stage also a few years back. Album last year was pure watery.
