Doors say open at 7:30, I arrived just before 8 and the Mystery Jets were finished. So get in early. We Are Scientists were decent but the money was worth it for the last two acts. Artic Monkeys were really top class and Maximo Park blew me away. The lead guy (Paul Smith) was really up for it and they played a new tune called 'Nose Bleed', which was quite good.

Hey Gar... Glad to hear you've been recruited into the Maximo Park love bus!! Paul Smith is such a legend! Pissed off to f**k I couldnt make it... Their performance at Oxegen last year was savage!

All the indie kids went wild up the front, thus forming their own pit. The atmosphere was pretty good, especially for Artic Monkeys. Yeah, finally dragged on Benni.........I know you mentioned them to me loadsa times but honestly thought they were pretty ordinary on Jools. Their performance last night won me over though. Gonna pick up the album later on.

Never had too much time for Maximo Park based on what I'd heard but I caught the last 30 minutes of their gig in Limerick last night on Pet Sounds and thought they were quite good.

I saw them at Oxygen in the summer, wasnt overly impressed. That said, I was severly misinformed about their 'sound' from a poster here & so was too busy standing there thinking 'This is anything like I Am Kloot' rather than taking in what they were doing. I'm still there for the turning ...

might head to the NME gig tonight. Saw Maximo Park in Limerick on Sunday and they were f**king brilliant. Anyone else there? Stars of the City in support were pretty good too, but Maximo were just excellent.

Ah jaysus...thats way too early for the Jets! I too am hoping to be converted to Maximo. Saw them at Benicassim and wasn't blown away, but I'm coming round to them slowly.

I thought both arctic monkeys and maximo park were both fairly good last night. However, for me the hoghlight of the night was definitely We Are Scientists, who were savage

Missed the Jets last night, but caught everything else. We Are Scientists were stunning, can't wait to see them again. Arctic Monkeys were very good, but I couldn't get over the hysteria in the crowd. Maybe if I was 17 again.... Maximo Park, were, of course, excellent.

Was at Dolan's too for Maximo Park, definitely one of the best shows I've seen in a while, the front man was unbelievable! But one of the best moments was the bassist's over the top rockin' out to Limassol after standing nearly completely still for half the night... priceless!!

Dolans was a great gig in a great venue. Not too crowded, easy route to the bar, enthusiastic yet respectful crowd..postcard on a painting was unreaL after the encore. regarding the nme gig, i was dyin to no wat people thought of we are scientists. The couple of singles knockin around mtv2 are wicked.

I really liked we are scientists but coming up to the gig I kind of went off them. May sound silly but some of their songs were annoying me! But then after seeing them live they just won me over again. I thought they were amazing, a totally different band to what I had thought.

Went the second night, up the front. Thought Mystery Jets were pretty good, one to watch out for. We are Scientist were very impressive, great sound from a 3-piece, definitely going to get bigger. The crowd then went insane and the pressure became intense for Arctic Monkeys, almost to an unbearable extent. They were very good but I wasn't blown away by them. The minute they finished the crowd up front disappeared back to the bar. I have to wonder if they might wear a bit thin when all the songs seem to be all about one night on the town, musics good though. I wonder how their lyrics would translate to america for instance, would they get it, i don't know. It was a few songs into Maximo Park before it got packed again but not to the same intensity as for the Monkeys. Maximo Park were very good, although having seen them before it took a little from it, probably a band who impress most on seeing them live for the first time. Euro for Euro the best value gig of the year, Music for Music it was pretty damn hot too.
