Did anyone get or purchase one of the Sony Walkmans and have problems with the software? Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks.

I just got a rather long e-mail from a friend of mine about her newly purchased one bitching about how s**t it was and how the software wouldn't work on her laptop.
Eventually she had to buy more RAM for her PC to get it to work. Might be the same problem with you.

My younger brother got one from Santy, the lucky sod. Aaaaaaanywho, he had major problems with the software as well, in that it simply wouldn’t work. He checked various messageboards and saw that a lot of people are having the same problems.
To cut a long story short, he removed the software from his PC, re-installed it, and now it’s working 100% fine and dandy with absolutely no problems whatsoever.
Give it a go.

It's amazing how far behind Sony are with their mobile players considering they invented the damn things.

Sonic stage is a pain in the hole to use, You woud reckon that big companies like Sony would sort out decent software, especially when their players are really good once they get going. Same with Philips the uint itself is great but the software abismal. I-river probably only way to go no software, but I-tunes is a great little programe for mamaging your music on the computer.

It's a piece of piss. I reckon the i-Pod is the digital music player to beat all digital music players. Since i got mine over 10 months ago it's been plain sailing from Day 1.

You see folks, this is the problem with software, it's generally pretty flaky, even iChoons has it's spack out moments when not running on it's native Mac OSX. Players that act as USB drives are they way to go, drag and drop, easy peasy.
As for Sony software being crap, hardly suprising considering their recent "rootkit" fiasco

I say stick to the old Walkman with your C90 tapes that you've taped off and swopped with you mates from your old ghettoblaster. The old ones are always the best.
