I was in there Sat.night, didnt realise it had been reopened. Dont think many others knew either cos it was Tumbleweed Central. Anyone been here recently? Gone a bit superpub. Music's the same tho.

You wouldnt know the place! I liked the cavern club kinda thing to be honest. Now it's a big multilevelled place and the tunnel is a kinda overflow if it gets too full. Which it wont. It's The Grove night. Could be good if it fills up a bit. Waiting for the Benni (TM) seal of approval.

I think there is a fee but I was in the bar before the club opened. I just walked downstairs. Was there not always a fee tho?

If you're looking for a gig we the Blood Red Mountian Band are playing a gig there on Sat 10th of December with Me In The Park.
For the lovely, low, low price of a fiver, you get to check us and the new sound system out and there is a late club on after - hurray!

My drunken former Grove regular friends were askin all sorts of questions about the place and I think one of the staff said the sound system came from Vicar St. Which cant be bad.

I've djed there on thursday night twice recently. It is a cool system and it's obvious they've
spent loads on it but the promotion is fairly negligible. I nearly had to spend as much time
with the lights as I did the decks. Was the saturday club the 'trailer trash' one? They seem to
be going down the generic 'house' route altho the grove is on monthly again. Thursdays are meant
to be student nights but I didn't see that many. They will play the gigs downstairs same place
as the club is. Not ssure if will have the right vibe going for it.

The "club section" wouldnt be a good venue for a gig, no. And it wasnt trailer trash, it was pretty much yer standard indie with a few 80s rock tunes thrown in. And "Black Betty". I hurt my neck.

There seems to be a few different types of nights going on there. Heard through a mate of mine that they've a Midas System and he said that there are some pretty cool indie bands playing at Radio City in the coming months. The club will be open every night so there should be a good mix of events. The trailer trash night is only on friday nights. Apparently Jenny Greene, who dj's with FM104,is running it.

"Juliet Turner and Carnival Saloon are headlining a special charity
gig in Radio City in Store Street Dublin on Sunday May 7th along
with others. The gig is to support Terri Byrne who is suffering from
cancer.
In Feb 2005 Juliet picked up an Irish Meteor Music Award for best
Irish Female Performer, alongside artists such as Paddy Casey, PJ
Harvey and Snow Patrol. She has recently signed a distribution deal
with Valley in America and is working on her fourth studio album.
For the uninitiated, Carnival Saloon are to Tom Waits what The
Rolling Stones are to Muddy Waters. With a force of nature fronting
and drawing on spirits as diverse as Bukowski and Kerouac to Ray
Charles and Elvis, this is high octane musical theatre not to be
missed.
It will be the first appearance this year in Dublin by both artists
so it promises to be a special night."

Carnival Saloon? deadly. Love that band.
I played Radio City twice last month or so ago and it's a nice place to play.sound man is a bit up his hole and the stage is a bit small.
Everything else was great.
Even the bouncers
