There were plans in place for a charity gig back in May to coincide with the site's 6th birthday but our headliner dropped out and the whole thing fell through unfortunately, it was a shame becasue we had a pretty deadly lineup sorted and not one that was typical of past Cluas events, not a member of the Whelans' brigade in sight.

Pity. As Homer said, "Trying, is the first step to failure."

(this is a totally shameless plug but theres a charidee theme on this thread so here goes...) (Dublin based band) Lucera's drummer Donal is shaving his head for charity on Sat 3rd December in Dorans in Temple Bar ALL proceeds are going to Temple Street Childerens Hospital. AND you can take part in the auction to get first chop! in case you're wondering, he does have very, very, very long hair. well its certainly very, very long. (there may be some chest waxing and stuff that night too but thats nothing to do with the event, its just a pre-gig ritual!)

ahem. It's just that they generally seem to be highlighting a mediocre band, rather than a cause. Look at Live 8, what a load of tosh, although, I know that wasn't for 'charity' per se. It's not so much now, but there was a while there where every gig seemed to be a hodge podge of bad bands trying to get more than their mates to go to their gig and thinking "hmm, let's do one for charity, then people will HAVE to go." Probably not a very popular view, but, how and ever...
