You dont need a program to take the songs off your ipod. You can go through windows explorer. Just click on the ipod icon in your drives list and there is a hidden folder called ipod_control. Then after that there is a file music. Then there are a long list of f folders. An easy way to organize this is by just unhide all of the folders in the music folder and then search for all files over 1 meg. This will list all the songs out. If you have recently updated your ipod all the song titles will be scrambled. Xps windows explorer you can have artist, album and original title as columns in the window. Hope this helps.

But that's really hard! Ephpod is a really good and easy to use free programme that allows you put the songs back onto your computer. iTunes once told me to reset my ipod to factory settings (which means deleting all my 35GB of music) but when I ran ephpod it solved the problem somehow. www.ephpod.com
