The people of Slane can relax as the countrys biggest ever potential knackerfest has been cancelled. Eminem has pulled out of his entire european tour citing exhaustion (celebrity speak for rehab).
Refunds are available from Friday so be wary of a large groups of disappointed skangers making their way to Bud Rising or Electric Picnic as an alternative.

Perhaps.... just a thought..... maybe the organisers of said events could employ <deleted by moderator> for the day for each of the above mentioned gigs???
If they were accurate there would be alot of free tickets floating in the air as the <deleted by moderator>!!
Jesus... i really have issues.

If any of you heard dave fanning last night then you were in for a treat as the outraged mammys of ireland rang in to complain about the Slane cancellation with stories of how they queued in the rain all night for tickets for their off spring or how they were going along with their twelve year old sons to the gig, having learned the words to all the hits in advance. Classic radio and so appropriate that mothers would go after an artist who has made a living singing about his own mammy.
"I'm sorry, Mama / I never meant to hurt you / I never meant to make you cry" - from CLEANING OUT MY CLOSET by Eminem.

What a pu**y, I thought hop-hip stars were all supposed to be tough guy. Tupac has put out over 400 records in the last 18 months and he's dead.

50 Cent is still playing the next day @ the Point, and Eminem's last 2 albums were sheeeeeat anyway. Who cares? Slane is just another gig these days.

The truth will out ...
apper Eminem has been hospitalised for drug dependency, two days after cancelling his European tour due to "exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues".
According to his label, the star is currently undergoing treatment for a dependency on sleep medication. "Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, is in the hospital under doctors' care," a statement from Interscope Records said. "He's being treated for dependency on sleep medication."
Earlier this week, a statement issued on behalf of Eminem said that singer would be cancelling all the dates on his proposed European tour with 50 Cent, which was due to finish at Slane on 17 September. The statement also said that the concert dates would not be rescheduled.
Reports that he was planning to retire after his Anger Management tour were recently denied by the singer, who said that he was going to concentrate on producing other artists for a while.

I always feel let down when our music stars get hospitalised for dependency on rubbish drugs. Sleeping pills? C'mon.

Why is this surprising, isn't "exhaustion" just a euphamism in the entertainment business these days?
