Ok, in response to the "soundalike" thread, what are the best covers?
My favourite would definitely be Hendrix's version of "All Along The Watchtower" and Ten Years After's version of "Woodstock"
can't think of any more recent ones off the top of my head.

I've gone off it a bit myself but that could just be over exposure. It still beats the sh*t out of the original though.

if James Blunt wasn't at the top of the charts, a lot of people would be raving about him and moaning that he wasn't successful.
KT Tunstall's performance on Jools Holland was absolutely brilliant.
Zat is all I have to say on this matter, which is basically about preference, not quality.

Don't forget Strange Fruit, Madame George and The Boy With The Thorn in His Side. Back in the glory days of Napster my brother managed to fill a full CD with bootlegs of Buckley doing covers in. Sin-E

Smashing Pumpkins cover of Thin Lizzy's 'Dancing In the Moonlight' is really cool.
Also Will Oldham's cover of 'Big Balls' by AC/DC is great, he sings it so earnestly in his typical style its absolutely hilarious!
