a few of my American friends are obsessed with this band, and I have to admit, as uncool as it is to like emo, I think they're pretty good. Don't think they're known here at all, so here are some links - ultra dramatic emo and by all accounts, great live. Coheed And Cambria - In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 (zip file) http://www.xomby.com/redflashx/Coheed%20and%20Cambria.zip a track from their new album (Dear Apollo I'm Burning Star IV) http://www.burningstariv.com/ mp3s from a couple of albums http://coheedandcambria.com/media/

Fair play, quality band. Yeah, I got slated on here for saying I liked a couple of emo bands. Had 3 or 4 people quoting some ridiculous deffinition culminating in the phrase "bitch rock". There are good and bad bands in every genre! I'm liking Alexisonfire, idiot pilot, dillenger escape plan and In pieces at the moment. Heard any of them. Well worth checking out.

Alexisonfire have been one of my favourite bands for a while now, since I got the album last year. .44 Caliber Love Letter and Polaroids for Polar Bears are such great tracks. So good. I'd love to see them live, but no emo bands ever come here! Other favourites are Taking Back Sunday, Fallout Boy, Thursday and of course, Death Cab.

Yeah alex are quality alright. Really like thursday and death cab, not convinced by TBS and fallout boy. On the subject of death cab, do you know who did such great heights first? Postal service or Iron and Wine?

not sure actually, but it's on The Postal Service 'Give Up' album which was out in 2003 and I think Iron and Wine just covered that version for the Garden State Soundtrack afterwards.

Just to claify I DO have the Postal Service album and the Garden state soundtrack, just wasn't sure if Iron and Wine recorded such great heights before or after postal service.

Hmm. Wouldn't have called that emo. What is emo now anyway? How can that and Death Cab be classed together?
