its a stadium so anything up to 40,000 depending on where the stage is or how many tickets they can flog for it!!
u will never get an accurate figure for any outdoor show cos promoters can always fit in a few extra thousand or so punters when no-one from the act or act's management are looking.
i'd say they'll sell 20-25k tickets for the pixies at most and weezer won't sell out the point.

s**t yea thats a wierd one alright - Ambassador prob would've been better if looking for a larger venue.
They could get a bunch of s**t cool support bands tho.. that seems to be the real flavour of the month when trying to sell concert tickets.

true but landsdowne? if it was me i would have had them in either the olympia or the ambassador with options on 2nd or even 3rd dates. Then again its not me, and the only gig i ever put on lost money.
Franz Ferdinand i would put on a plane.

But Pixies are supported by Kings Of Leon and Teenage Fanclub who would bring their own set of fans. I'm moreso going to see those two and to see what Humanzi are like. Then the Pixies are an added bonus as I'm not a huge fan.
Not too sure about Weezer at the Point. Think it's because the Vicar Street gig sold out so quick and there was a great reaction on the night.

my favourite what-the-f**k fest line-up this summer is maroon 5, franz ferdinand, scissor sisters and snoop dogg at lansdowne. i mean, who the hell put that one together? absolutely nothing linking any act. ridiculous.

gar, much as you seem to have a good taste in music, how can you not at least appreciate pixies?... lansdowne though - i could quite easily see this as being the last ever stadium gig i will go to - can't think of a single other act that would make me want to put up with the large crowds / crap sound and rubbish vision that invariably comes with stadium concerts

I think the link is comercial radio. Each of those acts belongs to the 5cd-a-year crowd, & will quite happily go down a storm at the office party.

Damn ... Teenage Fanclub & The Pixies. I'd love to see that. I saw The Pixies a few weeks back in WA state at an outdoor festival. Very, very cool and not out of place outdoors.

Interestingly the Pixies have made 6million from their reunion tour. Not sure if that is interesting actually.

Palace: Cheers for noting my taste in music. But I previously said that I wasn't a huge fan of the Pixies but I defo appreciate them and what they've produced through the years. I like a few of their tunes and want to like more so that's why I want to see them live. And I have to admit that I like some of Frank Black's solo stuff.
