Alright boardies... Which, if any, gigs shall you attending during the Bud Rising Fest? Myself well I'm heading off to see a few.. Fri - THE DEPARTURES w/support from EDITORS Saw The Departures in a tent at oxegen on Sunday at around 12pm. There was only around 20 people there but they gave it socks. Heard great things about the Editors, have a few tunes etc. Mon - TOM VEK w/support from TOM RIXTON (DJ SET) Loved the album since I first (illegally!) downloaded it early in the year. I have since bought the vinyl tho! Really like the mix of stuff goin on... The Rapture, Beck, !!! etc. Apparently the support act produced the album.... I think. Tues - WEEZER!!!!! Yes I set my alarm clock on that faithful morning and was one of the lucky ones! First Irish date ever... Leg Ends!!!! I'll be popping along to a few of the free gigs too - most significantly Dark Room Notes who are certainly the s**t. In a most excellent way. Wish I could make it to British Sea Power and Magic Numbers but cash and my inability to be in two different places at the one time have deterred that plan.

The Hives Thursday Magic Numbers Friday Duke Spirit Saturday and on Tuesday im torn between Sons and Daughters in the Village or Amazing Pilots in Voodoo. Think I might head to the Village, because Voodoo depresses me. Would definatly be tempted to go to see Editors too. They're fantastic.

Only one I wanted to see was the Magic Numbers, but cant make it due to Friday Night Football. Gonna get to Voodoo on Tues, Alphastates are worth the admission fee, Amazing Pilots & Archer are a bonus. Got a free ticket to Roots Manuva last night. Good stuff. Are The Editors/Departure, not on the same time as Magic Numbers ?

Yea they are I think, well they clash with one of the gigs I'm headin to anyway... thats the s**tty thing cause I really wanna see Magic Numbers too.. however the dual deadliness of The Departures and Editors swayed me for that one. I'm sure Magic Numbers will be excellent too... Have t catch em at Oxegen I guess. Actually a lot of the smaller acts aare playing the fest too so at least we'll get 2 chances

there's a lot of very good bands in there. in fact, i would go so far as to say that 2 of them are great and 5 are pretty decent.
