I'm REALLY looking forward to this gig. Missed him last time, and then with cancelations and rescheduling and what not, my appetite has been whetted all the more.

Me too! I saw him last time and he was excellent. Hopefully he'll be on form and play loads of old Red House Painters stuff. Rumour has it hes doing a thumping hard core DJ set after his accoustic set. :)

I want him to play loads of stuff from the Ghosts of The Great Highway album. Such a great record.

I'll be there too!! Mark is one of my all-time heroes! Sun Kil Moon gig last year was magnificent (check out me review on tis site), eventhough it was held in the s**tty Village venue. Mark got increasingly irritated throughout the gig by a loud fan above the stage. He battled on though and gave us possibly the best gig of the year. Una, me hopes too he plays lots from 'Ghosts...Fav album of 2004

yeah, it's one of my favourites of 04 as well. Especially Glenn Tipton - some of the best lyrics I've heard in ages (esp the last verse - creepy) You know Mark was in Almost Famous. Weird.

What did yall think of the gig? I thought he had a shaky start. Def very nervous, but there was a nice atmosphere all the same. I really enjoyed the second half and especially the encores. Such an incredible voice live.

True, amazing voice alright. Haunting, I think is the word. He was good if a bit shambolic at times. Sun Kil Moon gig last year was better but last night was still great though, amazing set of songs.

not one of my favourite gigs of the year... you can drift away on his music all right but this one was just a bit TOO shambolic... "mark, if you make a mistake, just play it twice and everyone will think it's jazz!" gets my award for the this year's strangest heckle from the audience with appropriate put down returned from the stage
