Has anyone seem this movie? 'tis a documentary about the roots of hip hop and turn tablism (mainly turntablism) its very well made, loads of good interviews, (a really good deleted scenes one with Shadow) all in all a good film. Gives a good introduction to the art and even involves aliens!
I think Qbert is playing in Cork soon too, so it's topical and all!

yeah that's a really cool film! it was directed Doug Pray. It gives a great history into the world of hip-hop/dj'ing. I especially like the part where Shadow, QBert, Flare and Relm are Scratching in Qberts house. totally amazing. I know it used to be available in HMV, but the US version has a good bonus DVD, so get that if it is possible.

Yeah that was DJ Z-TRIP he was playing with. it was a mix they done of blackalicious' "Alphabet Aerobics" and some track by Apollo 100 (not too sure of the name) dont think it was ever properly released. if you check out z-trips website, www.djztrip.com he used to have a load of old future primitive live gigs up on the site.

best bet would probably trying ebay, "The Sorcerers Apprentice" is a really old Disney movie, so you could probably pick the music for it up on vinyl pretty cheap. that filmore show is also awesome, that was recorded for the "Product Placement" show (which is on DVD), where he opened up for DJ Shadow + Cut Chemist. If you like his stuff you should check out this cd he made a few years back called "Uneasy Listening", where he done mixes of classic rock+pop songs with hip-hop etc, it's pretty hard to get an original these days (alot of bootlegs) but road were able to pick one up for me.

yeah the Rhinestone cowboy mix is class, and also the the Dust in the Wind one also rocks, he has a new cd out at the moment called "Shifting Gears", it's ok, basically his production with a few rappers thrown in, personally I'd prefer uneasy to it. Also can't wait for that new scratch movie to be released, nice one for the heads up stroller.
