I've been very impressed with the Other Voices programme over the last three years. But why oh why don't they release them on dvd?

While I've seen one or two good performances on Other Voices, the show bores the hell out of me and I tend to turn it off after a couple of minutes. Whats the deal with the whole church setup? occasionally it works, but sometimes it seems a bit stuffy. The biggest flaw of the show really is that seems set up for a certain type of performance and isn't able to respond to something completely different in the way that No Disco was. If you're going to do a live music show, I think Jools Holland is the template to follow. Its a dynamic and fast moving show thats capable of showing any band in their best light.

Great programme. Personal highlight for me so far were Emiliana Torrini (spellbinding, rushed out and bought her album the following day) and the mighty American Music Club. Very strange seeing this great band I've worshipped for over a decade, that only a select few have heard of, on primetime RTE Sunday evening slot. Surreal. Watch out for Kathleen Edwards sometime in June.

Steve Earle is the f**king KING. Kathleen Edwards is the f**king QUEEN. I can´t believe there wasn´t some kind of global revolution when The Revolution Starts Now. SUCH a brilliant record

Didn't really like Revolution as much as his earlier stuff. Admittedly it was more to do with my politics clashing with his.... Went to Dundrum new shopping centre yesterday for the first time - in Cafe Paul Rankin and in Butlers cafe they were playing Kathleen Edwards album.... Pretty cool. I don't know how much radio play it's getting - I bought failer over amazon when I first read Rolling Stone review of it and Tower had never heard of her. Now she's background piped music in Dundrum....

Saw it on the repeat. Yep, brilliant. Night and day compared to the gig he did in the Olympia last year. Goes to show what one person with a guitar and the right songs can really do. His version of Copperhead Road, shorn of its original arrangement was my personal highlight. Bear in mind that a juvenile Earle appeared in the classic country music documentary 'Heartworn Highways' in the company of the late, great Van Zandt.

Yeah that 'Heartworn Highways' is great, especially like the David Allan Coe scene in the prison and alot of Guy Clark on stage.
