Anyone seen that video to the Chemical Brothers single "Believe" about a car factrory worker who has nightmares and hallcunations about being chased and attacked by a huge robotic spot welder after an industrial accident? It was shot partly on location in the MG Rover factory in Longbrdge and features a worker clearly wearing Rover overalls. By a strange coincidence, shortly after the video was released, MG Rover, the only remaining UK owned volume car manufacturer, went into receivership meaning the loss of at least 5000 jobs. This will no doubt be a something of an issue in the upcoming UK elections too. The dark, almost Audio Bullys-esque sound of the track combined with the incredibly downbeat visuals seem to capture the mood of fear and uncertainty that the workers and their families must be experiencing now perfectly. So is this a stroke of genius on the part of someone with their finger on the pulse of the current state of affairs or just an incredible coincidence? And while we're at, can anyone think of any other videos that seemingly by coincidence, appeared to be be unintentionally topical?
