- Mylo makes special guest appearance to announce BudRising 2005 summer music programme -
Mylo makes a special guest appearance in Dublin today, Wednesday 20th
April to announce four sensational outdoor BudRising gigs, in
association with MCD, in Lansdowne Road and Marley Park in August as
part of the BudRising 2005 summer music programme.
The Pixies & Kings of Leon - Lansdowne Road - 23rd August
After a ten year absence, The Pixies returned last year and wowed
120,000 music fans in the Phoenix park proving emphatically they are one
of the most influential acts of their time. Kings of Leon have their
own unique rock sound; driving rhythms and gorgeously gravely vocals
unite in a real explosion of pure rock and roll energy.
Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand & Maroon 5 - Lansdowne Road - 24th
August
New York arts scene darlings & Brit Award winners Scissors Sisters had a
fabulous 2004. They exploded onto the music scene last year with their
edgy, sexy, brilliant sounds. Scissor Sisters bring together
rollicking guitar riffs, throbbing synths and a whole bunch of wicked
lyrics. Scissor Sister's live performances are legendary with their
oh-so-cool tunes and tongue in cheek glam style. Double Meteor award
winners Franz Ferdinand, who were also nominated for five Brit Awards,
are one of the most exciting bands around. Their performances last year
at The Olympia was judged by many as the 'gigs of the year'. Franz
Ferdinand are simply captivating. Maroon 5's song "This Love" became
one of the anthems of 2004. Together for over ten years their sound of
funky rhythms and classic soul melodies together with searing guitars
and emotion packed vocals make them one of the best live bands around.
Chemical Brothers - Marley Park - 19th August
11 years and 8 million albums since bursting out of the UK's underground
club culture, The Chemical Brothers are back. Following their sell out
Point Show earlier this year, the Chemical Brothers return to Dublin to
prove again that when it comes to beat-based innovation, inspired
collaboration and sheer sonic excellence, they are unmatched.
Basement Jaxx & Underworld - Marley Park - Mylo 20th August
No one throws a party like Basement Jaxx. Their music is a riotous
collision of soul, jazz, reggae, house and samba with the added
ingredients of punk and rave.
Underworld spent the 90's redefining dance music, they introduced an
indie-rock influence showing that sultry song writing, techno and
electric guitars can all share the same sweaty bed.
Mylo first appeared on the scene only twelve months ago with his debut
single, Destroy Rock & Roll - a high-octane guitar workout bending
chunky beats with a raucous vocal sample. Despite label interest, with
the backing of a couple of friends, he decided to go it alone and
created Breastfed. With a sound characterised by sophisticated electro
stabs, classy breaks and fat bottomed bass lines, it is remarkable to
learn that most of Mylo's production tools are computer internal.. Like
Adam F who set out to make his seminal Colours album on a limited
equipment, Mylo's genius is evident in his one-ness with his G4.
