*NB: (Moderator's Note. The following is an email sent to me with regard to the ticket I purchased for Ray La Montagne. I am specifically posting in two section of the forum to ensure that those who might have tickets for Ray la Montagne but do not have email alerts from Tickemaster see them) 10th March 2005 - sent from Ticketmaster Dear Customer Ticketmaster regret to inform you that Ray Lamontagne concert in Whelans this Saturday night has been cancelled due to illness.Please note that the concert has be rescheduled to the 2nd May and will take place in the Village.Original tickets are valid for new date and venue. If you do not wish to attend the new date a full refund is available by returning your tickets (via secure method of post) to the address below.Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact Customer Services (Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 6.00pm).

would the capacity of the village be higher than whelans? was going to come up for this gig but twas sold out - anyone know if there's any chance of extra tix for the new date?

I'd say your best bet is to ring Road Recs (01-6717340) and ask them to hold off a ticket for ya if they come back in. The Village would probably hold a few more people but think Whelan's would suit LaMontagne better. Nevertheless, its cancelled and have to wait till May now.

In the current issue of Word Magazine (with Clapton on the cover) it says as part of an advertisement for Ray LaMontagne - ' March 12th: Whelan's, Dublin. Extra date by popular demand'. Maybe he'll be playing two dates in The Village in May, or maybe its just a mis-print.

I saw Ray laMontagne in London last week.... a very lacklustre show. The album is pretty good (if a little samey) but the gig was limp - I left half way through. I wonder if he had been feeling unwell then as well. It seems to me that this artist is a great voice waiting for some decent songs. And he plays the Van Morrison card too often for my liking. Anyway...
