They've both been confirmed for T in The Park so it's looking likely that they'll play over here as well.

A good friend of mine has told ruefully of New Order's live death when they played with the Chili Pappers outdooors at Lansdowne (or RTDS?) some years back. In light of this, and the fact that their live show has been less than magical for years, I'd be an unwilling spectator. QOST should rock though, judging by the way they stole the aforementioned Chilis show at Slane a couple of years back.

Gotta agree with the Thin Man (even thought I'm fat man) QOTSA live at slane was one of the best live shows I've ever been at in terms of the weather, the company, the atmospere, (the fact that i was getting away with murder all that day and never once got caught!)

see new order at the NME awards? sheeeeite! Sumner was brutal and they even had that poxy sample of Kylie over Blue Monday, f**k that malarky, and what is the story with the lyrics for Krafty?! Get it together lads!

QOTSA's new album has gotten a great write up in Q ( for what that's worth ). They're a cracking band. What with the Foo Fighters and Green Day already confirmed for Oxegen, the addition of QOTSA would make for one mosh - tastic weekend.

Spurtacus, have you EVER known Bernard Sumner to write good lyrics? Seriously, look up the lyrics to any classic New Order song, some of them verge on the surreal, yet somehow, New Orders' records still manage to be absolutely magnificent. I also imagine the Kylie sample was just a nod to the fact that Kylie sang "can't get you out of my head" over Blue Monday at a previous awards ceremony (The Brits?).

The Foo Fighters, Green Day and the washed up remains of Rage Against The Machine and Sound Garden. All we need now is Pearl Jam and the whole concert will feel like a tribute to been stuck in a bikers bar in Moate in the mid 90's. Tell me do you get a discount on tickets if you're sporting a Kurt Cobain hoodie, bad skin and died purple hair? At this stage I wouldn't be suprised if they booked Velvet Revolver or the Offspring or Metallica or some other god awful heap of sh*te.

Audioslave, Foo Fighters and Green Day (though I'm not a greenday fan) are all decent bands. I would hardly call Chris Cornell (particularly looking the way he does...mmm) washed up, nor RATM. These bands, along with Pearl Jam, are all excellent in their own genre, even if they have somewhat accumulated a certain amount of teen rebel image. Foo Fighters rocked at Slane, although have to agree with mutch and the thin man, QOTSA beat them over the head with their own instruments in the end. Can't go to Oxegen (again) this year. sniff sniff :(

100% agree with ya man. Its poss the worst line up to date so far. Seriously f**king shocking. The only good ones so far are Kasabian (cause i aint never seen em) and Ian Browne cause well hes a leg end. David Bowie should make up for last year and show up.... at least then we might not be a complete laughing stock in festival land.

Don't forget about the White Stripes. They turned up at Reading/Leeds last year to make up for their no show in 2003. It'd be nice if they would pay their Irish festival fans the same courtesy.
