Some of the winners were expected (Jamie Foxx, Cate Blanchett) but it could be argued that 'Million Dollar Baby' was spoiled a little too much at the awards. Here's the winners:
Best Picture - Million Dollar Baby
Best Director - Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby)
Best Actor - Jamie Foxx (Ray)
Best Actress - Hillary Sw**k (Million Dollar Baby)
Best Supporting Actor - Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby)
Best Supporting Actress - Cate Blanchett (The Aviator)
Best Screenplay - Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Best Adapted Screenplay - Sideways
Best Foreign Film - The Sea Inside
Best Score - Finding Neverland
(I left out some other winners like best editing, but i'm sure not many of you care too much about that)

Nice to see sideways and Eternal Sunshine picking up awards. Two of my favourite films of the last 12 months, in fact I'd argue that they deserved to be in contention for the "big" categories.
Sw**k, haha.
Poor Marty, can't they just give him one so that he can go back to gangster films?

Well his next project is a kinda cop/FBI thriller which sounds good. It's a Hollywood remake and set in America of 'Infernal Affairs', if anyone saw the original. I have it at home and plan to watch it tonight.
But yeah, its a joke that Marty hasn't been properly honoured yet. They've done it with alot of people, e.g. Pacino (Carilto's Way, Godfather Part 1 & 2, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon are all great performances) but he eventually won it for 'Scent Of A Woman'. At least the Jamie Foxx prize was justifed this year.

I love infernal affairs, it's amazing. Watched the second one yesterday and it was a huge let down, perhaps it was just a bad translation to the subtitles but it made very little sense.

Guys did anybody notice that Sean Penn took issue with Chris Rock's comment about Jude Law but said nothing about a similar comment he made about Colin Farrell.

Good spot!
Thought the Oscars were fairly sh!te overall. Agree re Marty, but if they didn't give him one for Raging Bull, Goodfellas or Mean Streets then he's going to have to do something pretty special. He didn't write the Aviator so maybe they are waiting until then. Gangs of New York just wasn't good enough.

I didn't think Chris Rock was used enough. Maybe they cut his bits out for the television but the coverage that I saw only had him on once. Thought he was pretty funny especially the jokes about Bush and Michael Moore.

While I love Chris Rock and have loads of his stand up on my ipod I thought that the Bush stuff was pretty weak. Hes been quoted this week as saying that he wanted to use the Oscars as a platform to tour Europe/America etc. I'd say we can expect less contraversial Chris Rock from here on in.....pity.
