Photo of myself and Bono outside Hanover Quay studio.
Set list from Aimee Mann Vicar Street gig.
Set list from Richard Thompson Vicar Street gig. *cue much head scratching and mutterings of "who the f**k is Richard Thompson?" from some, ahem, younger Cluas readers*
Ticket stubs from 1980 including: The Police - one and only Irish gig - U2 Phoenix Park 1983, Croke Park 1985, Self Aid 1986 etc. etc. up to present day - etc. etc. etc.

Friend o' mine was given a half empty, slightly crushed can of Carlsberg by the lead singer of Slayer.
I used to have James Heitfields autograph that I got post gig at Fibbers once...Dunno where it's gone now.

When I was at an Ocean Colour Scene gig in the Olympia a good few years ago, the place was packed. Just as they finished, Oscar (the drummer) threw his drumsticks into the crowd. To my left, a brawl broke out with everyone trying to claim it. To my right, a drunken bystander got clocked in the temple by a flying missile (the other drumstick), so he picked it up and launched it back onstage, narrowly missing a roadie. Alot of people get obsessed with gig momentos, I was never really bothered. But if you are at a gig and you snatch a setlist, look around to see if there is a gig reviewer with a notepad and let them copy it down--- don't be so greedy, like the mutants who got them at Bloc Party gig.

Not really a momento, but once myself and my bro shared a doober with one of the dudes from Soledad Brothers while watching Spiritualized in Vicar Street - pretty cool moment.

Ahhh mementos. There's been several for me over the years. Faves include BB King's plectrum from his 1989 National Stadium gig, the one at which Bono and Edge came out on the stage to do 'When Love comes to Town' with him. After he finished his last song he slowly leaned down towards the audience with the plec held up in his hands, this gesture was obviously soon greeted by a sea of grabbing hands but he proceed to then slowly place the plec into my hand. Jayzuz I was chuffed. It was a cool plec with his name engraved on it and all but the bummer is I've no idea where the hell it is now. It'll probably turn up one day when I'm cleaning the gaff up.
I also got a number of original U2 playlists over the years - Adam Clayton's one from their 1987 Belfast gig, the Sarajevo setlist from the POP tour and a few others.
I've a crumbling smoke somewhere that Shane McGowan handed to me from the stage at the (insane and depraved) 1986(?) Pogues gig in the SFX. At the same gig he lobbed a full unopened can of Harp into the audience which struck me in the nose causing me to have a huge nosebleed which was, er, so cool. Rock'n'roll war wounds, eh? That could be another idea for a thread.
I have as well a “Sport Aid” sponsorship card from 1986 with "Bono £5" scrawled on it. I managed to collect the fiver as well and therein lies another story...

It certainly was. Support acts included a bunch of young Dublin whippersnappers called U2.

I was a that but was too young to remember it. God damn it wish i could remeber that. Its crazy im from Leixlip and if you told most people abou that gig they wouldnt believe you they stopped holding shows there cause Desmond Guiness was getting so much hassle off the Aul ones in the village absolute assholes. Its funny my aunty lives beside Landsdown and was one of those people trying to stop the u2 pop show. She failed and then recieved tickets for the show for free off the promoters and went !!!! god i hate that woman. Its mad how a small minority of wingers can destory a good time for everyone else. Id love to see shows in Leixlip castle agian perfect place for an outdoor gig
