So, Roseanne barrs armpit, if you really, truly feel that way my advice is that you take a single simple step to reduce your apparent sense of persecution and the step is to stop visiting that alleged hotspot of 21st century fascism: the CLUAS Discussion board. No one is forcing you to hang out in a place that you think is overseen by, er, fascists.
On the other hand, if you didn't mean it - maybe your words were posted at the blurry end of an exhausting day of work? - you are free to offer an apology to the Moderators.
I take the opportunity of confirming that the standards the moderators have recently taken steps to uphold will not change 'round these parts. The moderators will intervene in exactly the same fashion in any similar such cases in the future. A bunch of bores you may think the moderating team are, but we want this board to be a place where constructive, engaging, non-libellous music-related discussion takes place (which thankfully is the line followed by the vast majority of those who participate). The moderating team also will take steps to 'neuter' any postings that third parties might think are libellous towards them (as could have been the case with the recent thread "the biggest walkers in the music industry") and that is basically because CLUAS does not want to get its non-revenue generating ass sued by some hot-shot lawyers, as has been the case with other discussion boards where libellous stuff was posted by members.
And please, one final word of constructive warning: any web site (or discussion board) is not as anonymous as you think. All web servers (including that of CLUAS) keep a log of comprehensive data for EVERY single visitor - IP number, exact time of visit, page visited, Operating System, browser used, etc. When push comes to shove this log data can be used by a court of law in an attempt to trace individuals. It doesn't always succeed in tracing the exact individual, but very often it does. So please do not assume you are anonymous and untraceable on any website (or on discussion boards such as the CLUAS board for that matter). Big brother? You bet. As Scott McNealy CEO of Sun Microsystems said back in 1999: "You have Zero privacy (on the internet). Get over it".
