u may have to do some digging but try http://www.billboard.com or http://top40-charts.com/ actual sales figures are often something of a best kept secret - for instance, the official irish charts complete with sales figures are only available to IFPI members. one reason for this is they dont want people to see that the likes of cathy davey only sell 50 singles on the 1st week of release!

its difficult. you can find out about how much the retailers sold, thats the platinum discs, but not how much the shops sell. in ireland this is almost impossible, as an english company runs the charts over here and ireland is counted as a 'region' of britain, not a seperate country. Charttrack UK collate the information for ireland, and its distributed here by IRMA. perhaps you could give them a call?

sorry when i meant retailers, i meant the suppliers to the shops. gold discs and platinum discs and that are determined from sales from the suppliers to the shops, not from the shops to the customer.

Actually, Ireland is treated as a seperate country by Charttrack. They produce very detailed data on Irish record/DVD sales every Friday morning covering Fri to Thurs. It includes total sales figures for that week and overall year to year sales. If that sort of data is your thing, it's your only man Problem is it is only supplied to the record companies who are members of the IRMA and who pay their annual fees. The service costs money hence why it only has a limited distribution. They do supply charts to various papers (ie I think it;s in The Irish Times and Irish Indepedent the following week) but only the Top 10 without any of the sales figures. Your best bet is to find a friendly soul in one of the Irish record labels who will pass on the info to you. I dont see IRMA passing over the info as they are a bunch of schmucks.
