Anyone else going to this gig? Love the album - just thinking over the weekend; are the production values so good that they won't be great live? Stephen Street is a genius.

Am I the only one who thinks that The Ordinary Boys are the most aptly named band ever?

nah the ordinary boys are a good oul band, i'd say the gig will be worth a look. Speakin of apt titles, i have an album called 'Music Like Dirt' by Soul Hooligan, absolutely terrible stuff.

I'm sorry but they just remind me of Ocean Colour Scene and Kula Shaker and their ilk. That Week In Week Out tune was alright but the rest of their stuff just sounds like Brit Pop B-Sides from ten years ago. Staying within that time frame I'd also like to nominate Dodgy as one of the most aptly named band ever.

Guess we can all agree to disagree. Though the album Over the Counter Culture (while more than a nod to Morrissey) is a great debut. Good vocals but I do admit that I think Street had a lot to do with this album sounding good hence my initial question, will they stand up live. Good videos as well if you've caught them on MTV2.

A Lazarus Soul are supporting The Ordinary Boys. I think they are the boys from Future Kings of Spain and two others. I saw them before and they were interesting.

It was 1995 all over again in that it was like seeing Oasis. They are a great up and coming band. Super guitars. Played for under an hour. They had a new drummer who didn't know any of other songs so when they played an encore they played Week In Week Out again. The highlight had to be Seaside. New album out soon - one to watch. Big enough crowd there as well.
