Apparently the tabloids have Eminem marked down to headline slane in September this year..
Id have no interest myself, but I reckon it would sell out pretty fast all the same.

Anyone heard any more on this?
A metal mate of mine tells of rumours that AC/DC are being lined up? Wishful thinking on his part, methinks.

ACDC have been 'lined up' for the last number of Slanes. Seems to be an annual disappointment.

Eminem story has been circulating for the past 5 months but as yet I have not heard anything to confirm or deny this. However I would expect we hear more of this in the not to distant future as its not a million miles away. I have also heard talk of Coldplay which I think makes more sense bearing in mind that the new album is launched in June but then again their show in Marley park will probably nullify that idea. I like some of Eminems stuff but not even remotely enough to pay to go and see him in Slane but the other acts, whoever they might be, might be worth a gander.
If not sure we'll book slane and headline it and sure then you can come and cheer us on or come and throw rotten fruit at us!! whatever tickles your you know what zits....he he he....

i've heard it's definately going to be a hiphop gig.
Eminem, 50Cent, Jay-Z and G Unit are all in the mix. 50 and Jay toured together before, so I presume that's why he's addded to the rumoured line-up. This seems cemented with the fact that Hotpress put 50 on the cover and gave his album a cracking review. 'some' promoter may have had a hand in that?

Interpol are supporting Coldplay, & according to Interpols Tourpage, there is going to be 2 Coldplay dates at Marley Park.

There have been a lot of rumours, but no solid evidence yet. Isn't it being left a little late?

well it will be better than the Stereophonics at Slane - now that was the year Slane really went downhill.

Dunno, The 'Bryan Adams/Moby/Macy Gray' Triple Headliner gets my vote.

forgot about that one. didnt robbie williams also headline one year? i dont think i'd be alone in saying that Slane has become just another festival show now. it's down to many things (so many live shows here now, bigger and better festivals, changes in musical tastes etc) but i still think the booking policy has a lot to do with it. I mean Madonna, WTF?

Musically, it'll probably be one of the best in years at slane. Bryan Adams, Robbie, Phonics, jaysus, I'd pick Eminem any day over that s**te. Saw Em last time and it was a fantastic gigs, his performance was amazing.

Slane never claimed really to be a great rock gig, it's just a venue for big acts to play.

What about when Bowie played or U2 or Springsteen or Guns n Roses....
Slane lost it a long time ago.
