Has anyone seen this movie yet? Bad reviews have followed it everywhere so I'm not sure whether to go or not.

Sure it got bad reviews and they way I see it, it was poor casting I dont think colin farrell was suitable for the role but youd have to go to see angelina jolie.

Good Lord No, its Rosario 'better tits than Naomi Watts in 21grams' Dawson you're going to see.
To quote my mate on the scene, "The term Melons was invented for her".
Saw the film last week. Yes, the bad reviews are merited, but it does have its good points (see above for 2 of them :)) Val Kilmer being one of them. The sets & fight scenes being others. But the film is too wordy, remember doing Shakespeare in school ?!?
One of the things that came in for a lot of stick, was the amount of Irish actors in it (very hard to take the rest of it serious when Miley from Glenroe pops up 10mins in), but for me it made sense, because the the people around Alexander should have a similar accent, should they not ? Sure it beats having the standard American or English Upper Class accent on some recent films ....

On another note "Ray" (about Ray Charles, starring Jamie Foxx) is supposed to be great. Heard about it a while back and it got a really good review in todays "Ticket"
Apparently Jamie Foxx is actually pretty good on the piano, and played with Ray Charles before he died,
anyways, might be a better way to spend your money

I went to see The Aviator in the end. It was quite good but the last third of it was very dragged out. I don't usually like DiCaprio but he handled his role really well as did Cate Blanchett and John C. Reilly. I'd recommend you wait for it on rental as the last while of it is very tiresome in the cinema.
Won't be going to see Alexander so, looks bad. And I thought I was the only one who thought Rosario Dawson was fit. Caught my eye in '25th Hour' and again in 'Sidewalks Of New York'.

I thought the last 3rd was the best part, Di Caprio was super. Great to see him finally drop the baggage of Titanic & being the pretty boy.
I was lucky enough to catch a documnetary on Discovery about Hughes a few days before I saw the film. It really helped me appreciate Di Caprio in it, & how good he was at the Senate Inquiries.

Eh not quite, but a terrific movie. Very, very funny in a very bad way. Its also got musical numbers such as, 'I'm Roneley', 'Freedom Ain't For Free (Its got a big f**king fee)' and, 'America'
Truly classic stuff

Must agree with Mully on The Aviator. I usually find Di Caprio unwatchable but he was truly excellent in those scenes at the senate commission. Very like Hughes. As for the film, it was beautifully shot but really didn't stray into making any comment on the man himself (the paranoia, the bugging, the dirt digging etc were only touched on). Equally, it doesn't include the most interesting period of his life holed up in Vegas.
It is worth seeing for Blanchet's flawless portrayal of Hepburn but other than that, as per Gar, one for video.

Have to agree with amawaster, went to see Napolean Dymnamite last week and I haven't laughed so much in ages, although were he buys the sut reminds so much of Beck....
Also Team America is pure silly comedy, defo one worth watching...
