well its one of many people's opinions... i'd say 90% of the people that were there enjoyed the set and their night and there were alot of people that i trust their opinions there who told me that we were really good. its unfortunate that they probably wont be talking about the band on here so intensely ;) but such is the way... no one listens to good reviews anyhow :)

sure thats the way. if you have a good lunch you tell 5 people, if you have a bad lunch you tell 10! don't worry most people aren't swayed either way.. see you on the 4th.

I disagree with your point Mick of 'no one listens to good reviews anyhow'. I know it is very tongue in cheek but I think a single good review can launch a band. The main thing is that the reviews that come out are honest, and here on Cluas I've always found that that is the way. I myself reviewed Polar playing in Whelan's last year and I didn't give you a great review but I thought it was a fair review. With some tweaking, as I mentioned in the piece, I think that I could become a fan of what Polar do. The same thing happened with Jove - I reviewed them in Voodoo and wasn't impressed and then they were stunning live in TBMC. I actually couldn't find the 'Bite Your Nails' single in Tower yesterday and I missed the Whelan's gig due to sickness. Best of luck with it all.

gar, was takin the piss about the good reviews dude... i think good reviews are very important. i do think however that people listen to bad reviews more. as kierry said dont like something you'll tell alot more people then if you do... single is in tower now definitely, we'd a lot of trouble with them unfortunately, but all ironed out now. in road too :)

Yeah, no worries Mick. I had the single in my hand today in Road Recs but then a mate came in and distracted me. I ended up buying Cowboy Junkies and new Bonnie Prince Billy albums so forgot about Polar. But yeah I'll review the single if ya like. Email me, cheers.
