I feel like starting a new topic today. Hmm... If Dr. X Tremelybraney (your good friend from lab 101884.4and a half) invented a special musical timetravelling type device which could only be used once, and (being such a good friend) gave you the use of it, which concert of any time in the past would you go to? You don't have to have been there the first time, by the way. part 2: Given that the journey takes 20.6 mins, what would you listen to on the way? Deciding what to listen to on the way to a gig is always tricky...

has to be Grateful Dead Philadelphia in 1996 and when I get there I'd meet my self stoned off my tits buy a bootleg cut of the show ,,,Give it to myself( I would be part of the space time contineum then) so I'd have something to listen to on the way...Since I had this unknwn bootleg in my possesion for 8 years...Work that one out

There's only 2 bands i've ever wanted to see live and will probably never get the chance to anyway...so i offer 2, YES 2, possibilities... ANY Blue Oyster Cult gig. OR, yes OR, Guns N Roses live at the Tokyo Bowl in the early nineties. On the way? I'd probably listen to Aint Life Grand by Slash's Snakepit.

Every music fan would have loved to have been at a gig in CBGBs in New York between 1976 and 1979, but most people who were actually there would probably tell you that the place was a dump.

Actually, i'd go back in time to a few years ago. When I first moved here, Jeff Wayne did a live version of the War of the Worlds in the Apollo. That'd have been something special.

Bruce Springsteen's first live date with The E Street Band when he began those 4 hour shows and wore a flat coalminers cap/beret.

Any of the shows that The Doors played just as they were starting to get recognised around the LA area. I'd also love to sit in on John Lennon recording an album. Maybe the Instant Karma album.

I have a few Talking Heads CBGBs bootlegs circa 1976/1997 and they sound like a riot. Also, bizarrely, a band called Kenickie.

For Christ's sake, do none of you people watch Star Trek ? Messing around with time travel is a really bad idea. Anyway for what it's worth.... 1) Those supposedly legendary U2 Dandelion Market gigs. 2) The Police, any time but 1979 would have been cool. 3) Nirvana, anywhere, any time. I was in CBGBs in October. It's a dump alright, but in a cool way. They don't serve any draught beers though which sucks.
