Just wanted to say fair play to Brendan Bradley and Mick Lynch for two very interesting album reviews. I have the first Black Keys album and was unsure about getting 'Rubber Factory' but now I am convinced.
And well done to Triona Hourigan for the interview with Rachel Loshak. Insightful and a pleasant read. I was actually planning on contacting Rachel for an interview but it seems I was slow off the mark.
Gordon Gannon's review of the Gomez gig is honest and some little quips mixed in. Jesus Garcia's review of Camembert Quartet is different but equally as good.
All in all, more people should give their reaction to the new updates on Cluas. There are some really good reviews being published on the site but regulars on the discussion board don't discuss them enough. So fair play to all who submitted.

Cheers Gareth. I completely second his sentiment that we should discuss published reviews a bit more on the board here.
Well, what else was different today boyz'n'gals? Anybody see anything different on ze site? Yeah, that's right, I got rid of that poxy green background colour that was on all the music review pages since the CLUAS year dot. Yeah, it's all now the wonderful CLUAS blue on all the review sections. The mothership gets another tweak…
On the subject of the Gomez review, Gordon scored it 10 outta 10. Now I always raise my eyebrows at a full marks score. But Gordon obviously loved the gig. So I decided that instead of toying with the rating he gave (ahhhhh, the luxuries of the editor’s chair) I thought I’d leave it as it was and ask the regulars here if they think it’s a fair rating or should we be much more sparing in our use of such high scores (which, for what it’s worth, is my view). RSVP as I’m still trying to calibrate this whole rating lark. We don’t want to get a name for being too liberal with them high scores me finks – because when a real all-time, once-in-a-lifetime classic gig or album comes around we need to be able to clearly have the tools to make it stand head and shoulders above the pile. Let me know yer thoughts folks.

If its 10 out of 10 its gotta stand just like if its 7 out of 10. Where do we stop? Sounds like it was a great gig.

Giving 10 out of 10 is all down to the reviewer really, I mean concerning gigs you can have a really top night out with friends, have a few drinks and go and see a decent gig, but not a great gig, but you may come away feeling euphoric and give a gig more marks than it's worth - but having said that, the gig did sound good, they did play for 2 and half hours and they are always good live anyway so it's a bit spurious really as to what rating a gig can get....
Albums however me thinks is different

gord here,
Well i suppose 10 out of ten is over the top.Im a major blues fan and saw clapton live with bb king in Philadelphia..I would consider it unreal but the Gomez gig has to be experienced....For any first time Gomez people I say take a listen to Liquid Skin their second album and decide after that...G
