nice one, one of the last honest bands around unless I've been horribly fooled.
q2: AC/DC (or Bruce Springsteen)

Although it will probably be Paul McCartney. Anyother big acts touring in '05?
I don't think it will be an alternative act, with the exception of Greed Day. Has to be more mainstream or perceived as such to sell the tickets.

Agreed flipperstired except for Keane - really don't like them at all, such a mood killer and the rest of the bands are kinda "up"

ya that was my kinda thinkin! That Keane might just slow it down a little and give the 80,000 odd a little break before the next lot but hey ho cant get em all right me thinks! Nice line up though i thought! Now the chances of it happening for real!? lol

Fair enough, what about instead of Keane someone like Air - now that would be good

Depends on who's touring surely ?
U2 have already confirmed Croker so they're out for Slane.
Snow Patrol - good support alright but headlining Slane ? They've a few years to go yet methinks.
Radiohead would be cool apart from having to wade through all the skangers Slane tends to attract.
Be great if Bowie could be persuaded to appear ater last year's Oxegen no-show.

Think I'd much prefer to see AOTSA in a smaller venue, somewhere like the Olympia, now that would rock!!!

No - none of that. Think it would make sense. They sold out Marlay, would be good to have a line up of Irish Acts. Mundy, Rice, Kitt - Christy Moore etc.

Coldplay to headline. You heard it here first.
New album in March, ergo festival dates throughout the summer. Already rumoured to be playing Coachella. Mountcharles loves 'em.

for the love of the mighty potatoe. that boring shower of fools with their lead singer who was a virgin til he was 24. nothing wrong with that if youre in a regular profession such as the guy who polishes the fruit in tescos but for a lead singer of a pop act, COME ON FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
WHERE IS PEOPLES SENSE OF FUN AND ADVENTURE?

Coldplay played the year that U2 did and they were pretty bad. But they made up for it with a cracking performance in The Point. I would need a few really good bands to presuade me to travel out to Slane in the summer. I've been to Slane 3 or 4 times but only to Witnness/Oxegen once, plus the camping was bit of a laugh.
An Irish gig would be a good idea but I doubt it would sell out plus The Frames album might be a bit dated by then. Then again, they are meant to be due back in the studio soon. I'm not sure on this one, yet.

Mutch, I'm pretty sure that he broke that duck soon after he became a "rock star", or at least he would have had plenty of opportunities to do so (not implying that he took up any offers of course).
