MIX (Music Industry Xplained) O4
Announcing the fourth series of the MIX (Music Industry Xplained)
course.
MIX 04 is a 12-week series of lectures (one each week) by top
professional exponents from the Irish and International music industry.
MIX 04 is aimed at those seeking careers in the music industry. The
practical workings of the industry will be explained by key figures who
have worked with artists as successful as U2, The Cranberries, Clannad,
Christy Moore, Westlife, Jack L, Tricky, Beautiful South, Robbie
Williams, Massive Attack and others.
Key subjects covered will include Record Companies, Music Marketing,
Publicity, Image Development, Record Production, Songwriting, Music
Publishing, the Media, Performing, Management, Finance, Touring and
Distribution.
The MIX 04 course will include a written examination and those who
complete the course successfully will be awarded a Certificate
acknowledging their achievement.
The Course Directors are Johnny Lappin and Jackie Hayden.
MIX 04 SCHEDULE
Venue: The Holiday Inn, Pearse St, Dublin.
Lecture Times: Every Tuesday at 7.30 pm.
Lecture Dates: from September 28 to December 14, 2004.

Jan 18, 2005 Guest speaker, informal discussion on the future of the
Music industry and presentation of Certificates
Registration on the opening night will be at 6 pm.

board member with IMRO and MCPS), JANINE NALLEN (RMG Chart
Distribution), MARTIN CLANCY (manager, Jack L), ALAN MCEVOY (Livewire
Business Management - Advisor to the Cranberries, Boyzone, Jerry Fish
and founder of Wetclay Records) STEVE LYNDSEY, (Elevate music
Publishing and Management company) and JACKIE HAYDEN (Hot Press).
The MIX 4 course costs EURO 600. A non-refundable deposit of EURO 100
must accompany the enrolment form which should be sent to Deborah
Cogley, Hot Press, 13 Trinity Street, Dublin 2.
Cheques should be made payable to Wexpertise.
The balance of EUROS 500 must be paid at or before registration at 6 pm
on 28th September. Applicants who are not fully paid up will not attend
any part of the course.
